The Little River Chapter is already off to a great start in the new year. The Board of Directors has approved an $8,000 donation to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park Fisheries Department. Almost $6,000 of this donation is proceeds from the LRCTU Auction and the remaining amount is from the Chapter’s general fund. Once again, thanks to everyone for supporting and participating in the auction.
The Chapter will be initiating a Volunteer Recognition Program to reward LRCTU volunteers for their contributions to Chapter sponsored volunteer activities. Details of this recognition program are forthcoming, but will apply to all Chapter volunteer activities, including but not limited to, GSMNP Fisheries Projects, Trout in the Classroom, John Thurman Smoky Mountain Trout Adventure Camp, and Pistol Creek just to name a few. Awards will be based on the number of volunteer hours by participant; so, please start keeping a log of your volunteer hours.
