This is a big improvement from Turkey creek to m<span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">outh of North River area that it was before.\u00a0 Temperatures in the upper area in late spring are more suited for trout.\u00a0 Plus this move the Delayed Harvest Areas out of a big winter whitewater kayaking areas.\u00a0 This should cut down with heated encounters between fishermen and kayakers. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Tennessee Delayed Harvest Areas<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">In the areas listed below, the harvest or possession of trout is prohibited during the catch-and-release season. During the catch-and-release season,only artificial lures are permitted and the use or possession of bait is prohibited.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Hiwassee River:<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Appalachian Powerhouse downstream to L&amp;N Railroad Bridge.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022<span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Catch-and-release season is Oct 1 &#8211; last day of Feb.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022<span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">From Mar 1 &#8211; Sep 30, trout creel limit is 7 trout of all species combined and only 2 may be brown trout.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong>Paint Creek:<\/strong> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Paint Creek Camp-ground downstream to mouth at French Broad River.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022<span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Catch-and-release season is Oct 1 &#8211; last day of Feb. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><strong>Piney River:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Cumberland Trail State Park downstream to Highway 27 Bridge.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022<span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Catch-and-release season is Nov 1 &#8211; last day of Feb.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Tellico River:<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> Mouth of North River upstream to the Tennessee\/North Carolina state line.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022<span style=\"font-family: serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Catch-and-release season is Oct 1 &#8211; Mar 14.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Good Fishing<\/p>\n<p>Joe &lt;((((&lt;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tellico River Delayed Harvest Areas is now from mouth of North River upstream to the Tennessee\/North Carolina state line.
