Everyone is welcome to this casual event and tickets are now on sale through <strong>April 19<\/strong>.\u00a0 Chuck James, who, along with other volunteers, has been hard at work soliciting items from supporters for the auction.\u00a0 He reports that, so far, we have gotten items valued at a total of $15,000.\u00a0 The auction promises to be a great opportunity to pick up some needed items.\u00a0 A sampling of available auction goodies includes:<br \/>\n\u2022<br \/>\n\u2022<br \/>\nCustom bamboo rod from the one and only Walter Babb.<br \/>\nHelios rod from Orvis, the rod of your choice from TFO and a Bass Pro fly rod outfit.<br \/>\nGuide wade and drift trips from our local and regional guides (Mike Adams, Rob Fightmaster, R&amp;R Fly Fishing (Ian and Charity Rutter), Frontier Anglers (Josh Pfieffer), Southeastern Anglers, Trout Zone Anglers, 3 Rivers, and more)<br \/>\nGift certificates from local outfitters.<br \/>\nFly boxes filled with flies tied by some of our best tiers.<br \/>\nRegional artwork from regional artists.<br \/>\nGift certificates from local restaurants.<br \/>\nGift certificates from local hotels.<br \/>\nCool accessories for your home.<br \/>\nGift baskets with an assortment of items.<\/p>\n<p>Ticket purchase information can be found at www.Troutfest.org.\u00a0 In addition tickets may be picked up in person at Little River Outfitters or the Orvis Store in Sevierville. You can call Little River Outfitters at <strong>865-448-9459<\/strong> to order by phone.<br \/>\nRemember this is our major Fund raiser.<\/p>\n<p><strong>President\u2019s Corner<\/strong><br \/>\nMike Bryant (mjbryant1954@hotmail.com)<br \/>\n<a title=\"April2014\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lrctu.org\/Newsletter\/Newsletters\/April2014.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Newsletter<\/a><br \/>\nJan and I are now back from a long stay in southern Florida in the10,000 Island region of the Everglades.\u00a0 The weather and the food were great. But saltwater flyfishing can be a humbling experience.\u00a0 Our target fish were snook, redfish and baby tarpon, though we caught a variety of fish including sea trout, small jacks, ladyfish and small sharks.\u00a0 We had better luck catching fish with spinning rods and bucktail jigs than with a fly rod.\u00a0 Besides trying to locate fish and what they were eating, we had to contend with managing a kayak in the wind and tides.\u00a0 It\u2019s safe to say I didn\u2019t crack the code, but I learned a lot and we\u2019ll be back again next year.\u00a0 Anyway, we\u2019re happy to be back home especially with warm weather making for happy trout.\u00a0 I\u2019m looking forward to great year of fishing in the Park and the tailwaters.\u00a0 How can you help support your Chapter and the Park?
